Couple of ideas

I'm sure they've been considered or mentioned in the past, but I shall mention them anyway.

A random chance of finding deco (hanging herbs, deco armor, stuff like that) in dungeon chests, like we find MiB's and treasure maps would be neat.

BoD's for other crafting skills would also be interesting

It's be cool to see tinkering BODs.

Expanding the BOD system sounds exciting... what would be valuable enough to craft with Tinkering that would justify having BODs though? Outside of the custom keys is there anything that calls for expensive or massive resources? I could easily see Carpentry and Fletching BODs working.

Good point. Fletching would be good.
Yeah, like a guy who gave a BOD for a certain number of things such as gold ore, platinum ore, wood, yew wood, etc.

I've been on servers that had those other BOD systems. The primary prizes were runic tools, + skill items (similar to smithy/mining) and house deco. The ones that were the MOST useful were +fletching items. Making an exceptional bow is very hard even at high skill.
