No matter how I try the Tiller Man won't take any of my maps for navigation. Is this a bug or is it just disabled?

Not a bug, I wasn't aware this was even possible.

Ya I wasn't sure if I've heard of this before but I keep running into it and it sounds really helpful for traveling long distance in a ship.
