Veteran rewards and Bio-Pets

Hi Folks - well, this is disconcerting.

I got the notice that it was time to pick another series of Veteran rewards. For this round, I decided to take a +3 Cloak, and a +3 Robe. Seeing as how I just recently managed to make a (human female) bio pet - I thought that the +6 would make a nice addition to her armor/clothing.

Well, when I put them on her, they did not appear on her paperdoll. Nor in her pack. Nor in my pack. As a matter of fact, they seem to have completely poofed.

I tried logging out and back in - still no cloak and/or robe.

I searched the forums, but could find nothing regarding this.

Any elucidation, ideas, suggestions?
