Ghost and staff,
My blathering about how wonderful Whispering Pines is prompted my wife to set it up on her machine so she could setup an account and play. I popped on the three essentials (client, UOAM, and Razor) set the server up for wpshard.com and the port address and everything seem to come up.. but when I put in her new account name (belcar) and her new password I get the message attached in the screen shot when I launch the game immediately after it attempts a connection.



Thoughts???
My copy on my machine works fine and it is pretty much identical except that her machine is windows 8 and mine is 7.

I haven't tried UO on Win8 yet (can't stand it!) so I'll go with the basics:

Make sure "Patch client encryption" is checked on the main Razor screen and that "Use OSI encryption" is not checked.

Then make sure Razor and the client both run as administrator. Windows seems to block access for processes that alter data from other processes (like Razor does for uo.exe) if they're not running as admin.

Oh, and I almost forgot -- you might need to page for a 2nd account (see Rules tab above). It might automatically block the other account until that is set up.

I will double check the settings but I think I had all the covered from my install from my machine.

I agree that i'm no fan of Win 8. I do have the short cuts set for everything to run as admin and use Win 7 compatibility mode.

I'm betting it is that I need to page for another account from this IP address. I'll page the staff today and see what they come up with. Thanks for the perspective.

My issue was all related to one IP and needing a second account established for my wife. Doing that procedure and everything works fine now.

For reference the configuration that I did special for Windows 8 was ONLY related to the configuration of the shortcuts for the software elements for the game Ie: Razor, Client, and UOAM shortcuts on the desktop.

To each of these shortcuts the following settings have been modified to assure compatibility (they may not be necessary but this is what I did):

* Compatibility mod set to emulate Windows 7
* Toggled execute with Administrator privileged.

She's able to create her toon now.. Much thanks to all that assisted.
