Hi,

I hate that my first post is going to be trying to figure out what happened to my UOAM, but it starts up runs fine and I can even add my ore's to the map when I find a new ore location. But when I go to close the program it freezes up, so any changes I made vanish!

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I guess something happened when I upgraded to Win10. So I just Deleted everything and started over... and 2 hours later (almost) I now have UOWP, Razor & UOAM all working! Now I just need to see if I can start redoing my custom mining locations.

Which by the way how do I make a custom Ore map like ya'll did with the houses?

Never mind... it's not working still. It works fine but when I go to close it, it just freezes up and so any changes I made are lost.

Emerald, be sure you have followed ALL the steps in this post UOAM Instructions especially the parts about setting the UO Data directory and about running UOAM as admin. Also, be sure you are using only our copy of UAOM (installed automatically with the client) and not some other copy you downloaded. Our copy has been specially modified to work with our custom client and with our custom Fel map.

Yes I have followed the guides... the thing is, the program was working until I upgraded to Win10, and it still works perfectly, until I hit the little red x to close it and it freezes up "not responding" and when I task manager it close and open it back up any changes I had made are gone.

I don't know.

OKAY!

I'm getting somewhere... I deleted everything UO related on my machine except this site. LOL Then I reinstalled from your 2016 client and UOAM is working as I can add an ore spot and I can close and reopen UOAM and it has saved.

BUT!!

When I DL'd razor, it seems to mess up UOAM and it won't track, or calibrate when I use Razor to start WP. So I now just need to find a working copy of Razor for the shard, and the HOUSE.map file that isn't in the 2016 install file for the shard.

And I'd like to create my own ORE.map file in UOAM or to work with UOAM, if someone knows how I would go about doing that.

75% Ready to play again after upgrading to Win10.

"And I'd like to create my own ORE.map file in UOAM or to work with UOAM, if someone knows how I would go about doing that."

Easy enough -

1) Open UOAM, and then select either: "Places", then "Filter" - OR Select "Map" then "Additional Settings" - You want to open the UOAM Control Panel.

2) Select the "Files" tab from the UOAM Control Panel display.

3) Select the 'Add' button - a 1 line dialog box will open ("Add Places File") - enter the filename you want to use for your Ore Map (e.g. "MySpots" or "MyOre" - etc.) Do not enter the .map extension. Click OK.

4) Your new map name will appear in the list of files. Make sure it is checked.

5) Now, when you add a new label, make sure the FileName box at the bottom is set to your new ore file. That will place the new label entry in that file.

That should be all.

You have to use razor in order for UOAM to work with the shard. Also make sure that you are starting UOAM2016 as Admin or it will not track you.

I have a problem with UOAM, too. Thanks to Ghost's last entry, it will track me now. But my problem is that the screen is black. My position, landmarks etc. are all visible, but the map underneath is pitchblack.
I know certain strategy games apply a fog of war for areas you are not in, but a mapping program ... ;) ?
Probably, as usual, the error will be sitting in front of the screen  , but can anyone explain it?
Best regard
Val

Val, go to brit bank, then tell UOAM that you are in trammel. Map should change to trammel, show appropriately and track you. If you are using Windows 10, it no longer seems to track you from map to map, so ill need to be changed manually to the new map you are on until we can figure out how Windows broke it.
