WP

I've been on WP for almost a week and I can't put into words how much fun it has been! I started UO in 1998, just when T2A was coming online. I quit in 2004 after seeing the Samurai expansion and the travesty that UO became. It was trying to be all games to all people and wasn't doing any of them very well. After that I tried a few free shards and even ran my own for a while (Lonewolf emu).

I grew tired of the last free shard and was browsing the Top lists when I saw a description that sounded inviting. For once there was a server where the goal was to have fun. The others seemed to be a chore rather than a game. They thrive on PvP where I don't enjoy it (though it doesn't deter me from playing) and skillgain was agonizingly slow. When I saw WP, I saw a chance to continue where I left off rather than having to start all over again. That plus the various crafting and custom enhancements made it a must-see.

I'm glad I tried it -- I'm staying for good! It's fresh enough to keep it entertaining while not being garish and gaudy like some other servers. I've never seen such a friendly atmosphere either. I was greeted on arrival and given a "starter kit" by spacerx. Other players and staff have made sure I was getting along ok and that has never happened on another server.

So, thanks for the warm welcome and I hope to be active here for a very long time!

That is exactly how I felt about WP when I came here well over a year ago. Just enough custom to make it cool and not crazy overdone. Friendly people, and for once, sane staff. hehe
