I wanted to share this in case I seem a bit off for the next several days.

Last night the wife and I unexpectedly lost our beloved bunny Knotty across the rainbow bridge. He was our beautiful 8 1/2 year old mini rex, always happy and bouncy. He was Daddy's little boy who loved having his head pet and lounging with his bonded female bun Zoey. Our family is missing him terribly and we hope that the little guy is in a better place now. Daddy and Mommy will always love you Knot Knot.

Ghost,

I am so sorry to hear about this. Please believe me when I say that I do know what you are going through. I've lost a few of my beloved furry friends over the years, and it never gets easier. At the moment, I'm living with the knowledge that my 14 yr. old puppy, and my 15 1/2 yr kitty aren't going to be with me too much longer, and just thinking about it drives me crazy. It's so unfair that they don't live their lives as long as we do.

My niece just recently lost her 16 yr old cat, and I can't tell you any better than I told her : It hurts. It's going to hurt a little less in a few weeks, and a little less in a few months, and a little less in a few years - but it's always going to hurt.

And, like you - the only thing that helps is hoping that they are in a better place.

Take care, and try to remember the good things.

We had a chocolate bunny that I had won at the county fair, but at the time we lived in town so sometimes when we would let him out to play in the yard it got a little nerve racking when he'd take off. I enjoyed him and he'd hop all around the house also. But we finally found him a home out in the country with a bunch more bunny's so I'm sure he had a much better life out there.

Sorry to hear about your bunny, they are great pets and I'm sure it was a sad day. Hope everyone feels better.
