Ancient Leviathan
Posted: Sun Mar 15, 2015 7:28 pmA random monster sighting took place the other day - an ancient leviathan was spotted off of the coast of Vesper! Being both fleet of foot and swift of sail, I was fortunate enough to be the first to come to the town's rescue. Lo and behold - when I arrived I found a group of Dread Pirates marauding the waters with the beast, and their combined might nearly put a quick end to me and my steeds. The swift sails came in handy once again as I put enough distance between us to restore our health and begin singing fell magics and bardic enchantments at them. After the pirates were vanquished and the ancient leviathan was under control, I finally had a chance to take a snapshot of the melee:
The monster had accumulated great treasure over its many years of terrorizing Sosaria and I left extremely well rewarded for the encounter. Most of the loot was stashed away, one item was put on display, and 5500 gold pieces were placed in an offshore account belonging to Swabby the tillerman, whose fierce loyalty, flawless navigating skill, and fearlessness even in the face of nearly certain death have been vital to countless victories.
