Hello. I'm not dead or anything...

I had some trouble with my video card overheating, and had to get rid of it. So I pitched it, went with my on-board video, but it too had some issues. It lagged even under the most minor of workloads, and I couldn't seem to get the right driver updates for it.
So I said to heck with that noise, got a new vid card (GeForce 9800 GT 1024MB) and 2 RAM sicks, bringing me up to 4 gig of RAM. Once I got it to install properly, since the RAM wanted to give me all sorts of fits, and I had to change half a dozen BIOS settings to make the vid card work, I decided to test it out. I installed Doom 3, put it on the highest possible graphics settings, and played it to see how badly it would stutter.
To put this into perspective, I used to have to play on the lowest possible settings and things would still "warp" around, instaspawn in front of me, kill me before they moved, etc. Well, I played for about 15 hours straight without so much as a dip in framerate on the highest settings, the card barely got warm, and now I know what the game is actually supposed to look like.
This being said, I should be back in WP shortly. I have a few more hours of Doom 3 to play, since I can't stand not seeing the end sequence now. I'll be back as soon as that's taken care of.
