Shard Status

The Shard is UP.
For unknown reasons, the shard software is occasionally turning itself off with no crash log. This is making it difficult to troubleshoot, but it is being investigated. In an effort to help, and because save times are so short, I have increased the shard saves from every 30 minutes to every 15 minutes. If it does turn itself off, you should now only loose the last 15 minutes max.

The thing causing the shard to shut down has been identified and is being addressed.

The shard did go down early this morning (23 December). The problem was identified, addressed, and fixed. Shard has been returned to operational status.

The shard suffered a hardware failure tonight but is back online now.

Apologies everyone, looks like some sort of issue with the site's DNS (wp.dyndns.org) locked everything out sometime last night. We appear to be back on track now.

There were some script changes last night that, unfortunately, caused the shard to stop compiling during it's normal maintenance routine. It has been addressed and and shard is back up.
hehe, guess I know how to get you guys to post, as there is a 2 page posting about shard status you guys did this morning, lol

Sometime during the morning of 9/16, an intermediate switch lost power, shutting off communications to the shard and website. Power has been restored (9:20 AM shard time) and the shard and website are operational again.

Continued power issues. Resolved for now. 10:50AM shard time.
*EDIT* Problem found and fixed. UPS battery was leaking, causing the UPS to fail, severing communications between the Shard and the Internet. All Fixed now!
