Pet Bloodlines

Pet breeding has been disabled for good reason on this server. mated pets offpsring quickly become too powerful for the game making it easy and boring.

What i was wondering is, if there is a limiting script out there that wont raise the level cap or stats on sired pets.

I use to breed pets for the simple fun fact that you could trace their blood line back to the original parents and it almost became a royal bloodline to own a pet from that tree. Granted this is just for role play aspects but i think it would be fun if it were possible to keep the max level for pets at 30(even bred ones) and some how have the babies be born with base stats and not based off the parents. That would remove the overpowering aspect of breeding.

The only thing slightly unbalancing about it would be. if you had a level 30 female and a level 30 male they would produce a max level 30 baby which would negate having to spend hours taming hundreds of them to find another level 30.

Just an idea, i dont know if it's possible or not. and i completely agree that the pet breeding system as is, is entirely too over powering.

I do love me some roleplay bud, and I'm all for anything that could enhance that experience. However, the other side of pet breeding is that it makes an easy way for two people with a very rare pet (steed or wyrm) to produce an additional very rare pet for profit or gifting. Essentially placing a third rare pet into the economy for every 2 true tames. I haven't been here very long and can't speak for the vets, but that's my concern.

I could support pet breeding with those limitations - still max level 30, no breeding of the rare/unique pets. That would add another career path for tamers without removing the current availability of lvl 30 pets in the wild. Just like plants it's a system that not everyone would want to participate in and that's ok - it's all about choices!

I agree with that, things like the elemental pets, steel steed and the new dragon be non breedable. it would be fun for me atleast to form a bloodline of nightmares.
