Ive seen it on other shards, and honestly with how few merchants are restocked this would seem easier to look for whatever your looking for in 1 place then spending an hour poppin around to peoples houses with empty merchants.

Another idea is if a vendor is empty for a week he should poof. That would cut down on empty vendors too.

Although i agree about empty vendors to a point, a week is to short a period.
I rarely take any gold from my vendor (its got about 30 million on it at the moment lol). If i went on vacation for a couple of weeks and came back to find that my vendor had been cleared out and gone *poof*, taking the gold with it, I wouldn't be very happy. So I think you stretch that week out to a month

It's a good idea Zim. The auction thing has been brought up in previous posts and we have not heard back on it, that I know of. I'm up for just about anything to make shopping/buying/selling as easy as possible.

We have looked into auction systems, but unfortunately have not yet found one that isn't buggy with our version of server.

Undertsood, I had my own private shard and soem of the scripts conflict with other scripts.

What about a limitation on how long a vendor can stay empty? Ive seen a few with last restocked notes from 2011?

What about a Vendor mall, shard run building? Being new it is tireing popping all over looking for gear... this way all vendors are in 1 set of buildings?

Vendors at the NPG Vendor House (just east of the Luna gate) are free to all players. Anyone can place for zero cost for as long as they wish to maintain a vendor there.

As a shard, we do not want to run a "shard" vendor mall due to the load it would place on staff. We prefer to let individuals or guilds perform that function. The "running all over", using the travel mall house gates, helps acclimate new players and lets you see new places you might otherwise have missed. After a few visits, I'd suspect that you would get an idea of who is active and restocking and who isn't.

Glad I read this as I had forgotten about placing rune books at vendor locations so folks could pop around real quick. Yordor and WPA have locations with 6 or more vendors each so that is just two runes. We could add some that take you right to the portal-pad that goes to the roof in the travel center and then add some of the other most active vendors. If every active vendor had such a rune book, traveling would get a bit easier for everyone to shop around.
