Promote Crafting

Attract and keep more crafters by improving BOD rewards and/or making it easier to fill Large BOD. I have done easily over a hundred (or perhaps over two hundred) Smithy BOD now I think and yet only two of them were large. The reward for each was mostly gold and tokens, which are things that can be had via other venues. I'm not saying that they should be easy but for the time put into BOD the rewards seem to be far less than those rewards had for putting the same amount of time into Champ spawns. The time to gather resources, collect BOD, manage/search through BOD, craft and fill BOD etc. is not trivial. If there is a need to add risk that is similar to losing Fame/Karma in Champ spawns then put some risk into the crafting. Since you can gain fame by turning in BOD, perhaps you should be able to lose it when you fail to craft something? It would be nice to also have large BOD for weapons if possible.
I don't have all the answers as I'm not sure what can and can't be done. I realize that some coding is not possible without the right programmer so some things are impossible at this time. I'm just looking for ways to improve the crafting experience/rewards to balance things out a bit. It would be nice if it were possible to place treasure chests in NEW locations (undocumented) that required high Cartography to find, high Mining to dig up, high Lockpicking to open and high Remove Trap to make safe to open. Then perhaps high Stealing to pilfer. Put all or any of that into a somewhat dangerous area (but not so dangerous that you MUST be a Champ killer to survive) and you've made crafting more valuable. There can be more to a challange than just killing and surviving. Skills, wit, etc.
I'm just hoping that there is something that can be done. With all of the Fishing, Treasure Chests, BOD, etc. options for Crafters, hopefully something can be tweaked to make it more rewarding. I have no problem with adventurers being able to reap the biggest rewards but crafting should have something it can offer that you can't get simply by killing mobs. Another thought/idea... make it possible for a crafter to get to 140 skill in something without having to play 10 years and then allow that skill level to do something special. The +5 crafting gear should not be easy but the rariety of having all the parts to a large BOD and then maybe still not getting that +5 gear is more daunting than any mob. Death is easy. Spending 100s of hours for naught is to be feared.
Sorry for the long rant. I just wanted to get some ideas across and then cross my fingers. Like I said, I know that some things are simply not possible... and one more point. I have not done any treasure chests (other than the training spawns) and not much fishing so forgive me if I sell that experience short. Perhaps there is more there than I think.
