It's nothing big or anything, but I don't like when I click on the message button at the top of my screen and then I read my message at the bottom. I don't know if this bothers anyone else or not but I wouldn't mind having the Y coordinate cut in half on the Read Private Message Gump.

Should just be three letters of code that need to be changed.

Cree, would you post a screen shot here, as I'm not following what you are asking and a visual would help.

Alright Ghost. Here is a message from Razeil asking me how I am doing so far. As you can see, the gump (bottom one) appears very low in my screen. It drops below the [C gump. I'm also using a screen size of 1280 x 1024.


Maybe if it appeared at the same Y line (on an X and Y grid) then it would be a little better. So it would look like the second image below.

That's interesting Cree. My gump is not opening in the same position yours is, rather about half way up the [C gump. Resolution could play a part here, although I am running a higher resolution than you are (1900x1200). I consulted staff and some of them are running 1024x768 and it appears differently for them as well.

I have noticed that once you open a message, you can move it wherever you like, and all further openings will open in that same spot. You might try that if it is still bugging you, but for now, we will not be changing it.

I was going to comment on this yesterday but too much to do at work... and ghost got to it already

But I was going to say that it opens in random location but once you drag it to a spot you like and close it there, next time when you receive a message the "pm gump" will open in the last spot where it was closed.

For example my [c gump opens all the way in the bottom left corner where your UO map is and my pm's appear in the middle of the screen when opened.

****For the gump to permanently open in one location you might need to open it, close it, then completely exit UO and reopen it to save the configuration where ever it's stored.. haven't tested it yet as it hasn't bugged me but if just closing the gump and opening it won't do it try the above

I have tried that and it doesn't work for me. I don't know why. Maybe my UO just doesn't like me?

I think it would be the same principle as spell icons, you know if you set them up and your UO crashes or something and when you go back into it the icons are gone. And to fix that you would login pull out all the icons you need then exit UO. When you login after that the icons should be opened on your screen. So I think the above should work for pm gump as well position wise. I do play 800 x 600 though because of some euo scripts

Nah, that's different because the spell icons are client side and the gump is server side. That's why you can move your runebook or spellbook gump and then when the server restarts it's back at it's regular position. Same thing goes for Music. When you use a music based skill you have to re-target your instrument because the server forgets.

Just small oddities. It's not even a big deal just the little things that bother me some time.
