Loot Bag

I doubt this will be do-able but figured I would give it a try. Would there be any way to make a gump that would pretty much cover anything loot-able instead of adding things one by one and having umpteen pages to sort through? Basically it would be a BOD type gump with a selector switch to turn on Looting for that item or turn it off. You can say it b/c I already know it's an AWESOME idea. Just don't know if its feasible.

We did look at another looting system (in fact, we were one of the beta test sites for it). It was decided for several reasons that it wasn't a good fit for the shard, so we stayed with the loot bag system we already had installed.

For historical reference, the ability to use the loot bag is a relatively recent addition. For the majority of the shard's life the loot bag you currently have was turned off (i.e. there was no shard loot bag).

Having a gump that would pretty much cover anything lootable poses several issues. What is considered lootable by one player may not be by another. There are literally thousands of items on the shard. A one page gump has no way to account for all these items, so a multi page gump must be used, something you wished to avoid. This is the reason that the current loot bag lets each player choose what he or she wishes to have the loot bag pick up. If you want everything, yes your list will be long, but I don't see a way around that.

I wasn't very clear when I said umpteen pages. It is hard to keep track of what has been added to the bag now and what can or will need to still be added. I wouldn't mind at all a gump with 50 pages to sort through once. What I am asking here is a huge amount of work on your part and on that alone you could tell me to stuff it and I would totally understand. The only issue would be adding things as items are added to the shard and such. Like I said it was just an idea albeit an AWESOME one. No worries on actually doing it seeing how much work it'd be.

PS Honestly I just appreciate the replies I don't really expect everything explained to me

Hi Folks

As a sorta sideways request regarding the loot bags - would it be possible to have the item add routine respond with maybe a short message and confirmation prompt if/when you attempt to add an item type which is already present?

My biggest problem is that I don't always have the required item to add to the list, so it's hard to ,for example, add all the necro reagents at once, and at a later time, I don't always see what has already been added.
