Advice on Power Scrolls for new players to shard.

I have eaten a lot of power scrolls since being on WP and in UO in general.
As a new player you may or may not know one of the bugs with some skills and power scrolls.
For Instance the hiding skill can only be raised to 100 even though you can have power scrolls for higher levels.
You can of course buy potions that can raise it one point at a time to fill the extra 20 points but I don't think that is a viable idea. Or of course you can visit the Satyr and let him discord you which drops your skills about 30% for a minute then train the skill while dodging all the nasties in the area. I heard a rumor getting discorded by a friend can also work but I haven't tried it.

Other skills that are affected are tracking and of course chivalry which only goes to 115. At 115 all chiv spells are 100% cast-able. Save your gold and don't buy 120 chiv, hiding and tracking ps.

If you know of any other skills that fall into this theme please leave a comment

I raised my chivalry to 120 easily, just took an hour playing with a Satyr so a chiv 120 ps is not a waste of gold. Dodging the nastys is reasonably easy with peacemaking and an invisibility cloak.
Elixers are viable to be fair, It will just take some time to collect the ones you need

My post was aimed at new players and not accomplished players with high level gear like yourself Blue Fin, so stopping at 115 chiv IS more viable to a new player rather than buying a 120ps and then doing the Satyr thing.

I understand what you are saying, I just thought that someone aiming to raising chivalry to 120 would be relativley experienced anyway, but you are right I wouldn't advise it to a total newbie, however when I did it, i did it naked to try to raise stats so the only equipment i used was a bamboo flute and a bow (it was a good bow though)
