WP has a training area that will allow you to quickly gain combat skills, as well as snooping, herding, and bardic skills.

Some basic guidelines:

Twiggies will do a great deal of damage to weapons and armor. We recommend that you train wearing only a robe because any armor will be destroyed in a matter of minutes.

Your weapon won't last long either. To help, free practice weapons are provided at the south end of the training area. These are designed for the quickest possible skill gain. Weapons are available for each combat skill: swords, macing, fencing, archery, and parry. Don't use them outside the training area because they will do no damage to your enemies.

You can wrestle the twiggy too. This is good for strength gains as well as wrestling skill.

Pets can train here as well. They will gain combat skills but not experience points; for that they will need to battle other creatures in the wilderness. Twiggies behind a fence are for training your pet's magery skill.

The green twiggy will not damage you at all. The red one will do minor damage which is good for working your healing skill.

Herding can be a useful skill. There are sheep here for that as well as a shepherd's crook to use while training. There are giant beetles for training peace and provoke, along with a harp to use. Please do not try to kill these beetles!

You'll find pickpocket dips and a pack horse to train snooping skills.

The training area can be quite beneficial when used to its full potential!
