You can now rent select buildings in towns throughout WP!

Look for a small UO sign (like a bank) on the wall of a building. Hover your mouse pointer over it to see the building's monthly rental cost and how many lockdowns / secures it allows. To rent, just double-click the sign and follow the prompts.

Townhouses work the same way as regular houses. You can lock down items, add vendors, and decorate as you wish. Some aspects of these buildings (notably tables and carpets) are permanent and cannot be moved or changed. You'll have to tailor your decoration around these. Anything not permanent will vanish when the rental starts, leaving you a clean slate to work with. Most buildings include a 1-tile area in the front for you to have vendors, deco, etc.

Buildings will remain public and you can't sell them to anyone else. To end a rental, use the "Demolish House" choice from the sign menu. Gold will be automatically withdrawn from your bank monthly to cover the rent. Be sure you have it in loose coin form (not checks)! If you don't have the required gold the house will be rentable again and your belongings will be released and subject to decay and/or pickup by other players.

• Apartments in Britain - just southeast of Brit bank. Priced for the new player at 5k gold / month.

• Britain hideaway, just east of the northern mage shop. It's tucked away but easily accessible, and it's affordable too at 7500 gold / month.

• On the northeast side of Brit is a split-level home for 75k and a two story just south of it for 50k / month.

• Mining tent at the base of the mountain in Minoc - only 5k / month.

• Two apartments south of the Minoc bank at 20k / month - good vendor spot too.

• Retail building in the center of Minoc - 100k / month.

• Purple tent in the Minoc gypsy camp - 10k / month.

• Yew cabins on the water, south of town - 80k / month.

• Yew counselor's guild building - nice open floorplan that's great for vendors - 75k / month.

• Vesper counselor's guild building located on the south end of town - huge, perfect for a guild - 250k / month.

• South of Brit, along the road, is a guard outpost that is ready for rent at only 50k/ month.

• Magincia counselor's guild building - right next to the moongate, ready for vendors at 225k / month.

• Northern area of the Travel Center - two studio apartments at 20k / month - you pick upstairs or down!

• Cave on the north part of ice island (where Deceit is) - 15k / month


More rental locations can be added at any time.

Whether you're just getting started and need a quick place to store your things or if you're an established vet and just want room to expand, a townhome is the way to get a prime location.
