WP

Pets have varring levels on WP as high as level 30 in some cases. Your pets full potential can't be reached without training and leveling the pet up. As you level your pet will gain 'Ability Points' This short tutorial covers how (not the stradigy) to invest those points.

The NPC Info menu:
Left clicking your pet a menu will drop down. At the bottom you'll see an item listed as NPC Info. Click that


The Ability Points:
The NPC Info window shows basic information about your pet. For the sake of this discussion focus on the level information and ability points.


Spending Ability Points:
To spend ability points you need to click on the red dot at the bottom of the NPC Info Gump. This ill open the Gump below where you can choose to invest your points you and your pet have earned. Invest wisely as you can't change your points once invested. Avoid spending points on things your pet doesn't use such as putting lots of mana on a non-Magery pet. They will just go to waist.

Thanks Kaw! I can't believe this info hasn't been posted till now. It will be quite useful to newcomers to WP.

Note that as your pet reaches certain levels, new abilities (the ones that say -Locked- in red in the above example) will be unlocked so save some points for those.

You should also make a Note if your pet has a Special attack like a Dragon has Breath and save some of those points to enhance that special attack at the highest levels your pet can gain.
However you should also be aware that no pet will Gain a special attack if you put points in it. Example a Grizzly bear will not gain Poison attack even if you maxxed the points in it because it was not born with that attack. You will have to figure out if your Shard Specific pet even has a Special attack.

Maybe it's just me, Raven, but your post is rather confusing.

To add some details to what Kaw and Falkor have written here, the "special" levels -when pets gain more abilities- are :
- lvl 10, when you can increase their different resistances,
- lvl 20, when the damage they can do increases,
- lvl 30, when you can add points to their armor rating.

On WP, as it was already said, pets can "only" reach lvl 30.
But at this end, some slots on their abilities' menu (once you've clicked on the red jewel in the NPC's window) remain, and on this shard you can't do anything.
Would someone know what these abilities are (on other shards, that is) ?, and if they are interesting things, could they be introduced on WP (without changing the lvl 30 limit, of course) ?

Note : As Kaw said, it is interesting to always keep ability points until your pet has reached its maximum level.
For instance, when going from lvl 29 to lvl 30, i had to give my warg 70 (!) points for its armor rating. If I had spent them before... ;o(
