Just the simple truth

This isn't meant to put anyone down. But there has been a rash of people unhappy that not everything in whispering pines is available to everyone in their first few days. It is not just one person. WP does give you the chance to get gear to help with your start. WP gives you a no grind type style for skill. Even the mid level gear Star hunter gear is not that hard to get. The players of WP offer scrolls 105-110 very cheap and even better gear fairly cheap to help get you started. The dungeons and quest have be ranked to let everyone know how hard an event might be. For example... if you have trouble clearing a lvl 6 or 7 dungeon... a lvl 7 quest will be very hard to complete. It is not expected for you to be able to complete level 7 quest in your first few weeks by your self. Some quests are geared toward specific skill... thus if the reward is a mage reward.... expect you will have to prove your might in that area of skill. And as ALWAYS!!! we encourage team work. We do have players that only play as melee players... we have some that play as only mage players. And many many players switch to whatever makes it happen best for them. If you chose a path to follow... and decide not to change from that path.... expect to find wall that are hard if not impossible to pass alone. Build your social skills and make friends. UO is a social game. And no apologies for the shard not allowing you to simply sit behind a pet and get everything the shard has to offer.
Now on the other hand... I understand everyone wants the greatest best gear to be had here. Sorry but it is not given to you.... if you cannot earn it in one form or another.... you shouldn't have it. Thats not to be mean. We have players that have been here more than 4 years. Would it be fair to give you the gear they have done the work for over those years... for you to sit and tame rabbits? Please be respectful to the people that have died thousands of time to get where they are... the ones who have spend hundreds if not thousands of hours bashing their heads against the same walls you are currently tackling. They may have attempted to complete a quest longer than your total playing time.... and still may or may not have the item. Everyone has different limitations... understanding of the game and techniques they employ to test and achieve missions. It is not meant for everyone to have all the same stuff. If that was the intent you would be given all that when you first log in. WP is a new adventure. If you wish to conquer this world... it is going to take you more than a few weeks. We may not have pvp... but that doesnt mean we do not have our challenges. I have heard many call us soft.. that is do to the protected nature of our shard.. This is a social shard that offers great challenges.
Many things are offered by players that are very hard to get... But they are not given. You can earn them through safer efforts.. it will be costly and more time consuming. thats the nature of the beast. You SHOULD end up earning it... however you end up claiming your items.It comes off as ungreatful to our staff for putting challenges and rewards that are a challenge for our more vet players. The shard is not unblanaced. In fact... it is very balanced. Some challenges are greater than others and so are the rewards. There are challenges for those new players.... the vet players also need challanges to keep them interested.
