I would love if EVERYONE answers, even if you only monitor the forums and log on infrequently...I would like to know your gaming back ground. Meaning..what brought you here. Are you an old OSI player tired of paying? refugee from WOW or Diablo et al? Have your drifted from free shard to free shard? friend introduced you? anything and everything.....what I am trying to do is gather data to where our player base comes from and where we should focus our attention on gathering more players...

as a way to get started....

back in 2000 my, at the time 12yr old, nephew introduced me to UO online...I had played Ultima on the CPU thru the 90s but had not venture at that time on the fledgling internet. I started on a free shard with him having never played OSI or any pay shard...I drifted over the years until I found WP in 2008 and have been here ever since. I am an old school rpg player cutting my proverbial teeth on dice and graph paper playing D&D back in the early 80s.

Well, I started UO (an ex bf turned me onto it) lol; at first like no way am I playing this, to addicted in the first 5 minutes of gameplay lol. Started the pay to play in Nov of 1999, then had situation arise that kept me from playing f or 4 years straight; then found free shards went shard hopping,for a while then went another 3 years w/o gaming, (from sept 2008-nov 2011. then whent iso of a shard thats not so complicated and fast skill gains and no stat cap. it was then I decided WP would be my home:)

I started with Ultima 2 waaaaaaay back. I had a friend who worked for a UK software house and Origin had sent a copy over to them with a view to getting them to release it here. When the internet became cheaper here, I bought UO and played on Europa for abot 7 years, until I became totally dissilusioned with what EA were doing and quit. I went back for a little while and messed about with Kingdom Reborn, but when they dropped that, made a limit on how much a bag of sending would take to the bank, I quit for the final time.
Years went past and I was just casually surfing the net and saw an article about UO, the memories came flooding back of the good times, I looked over the freeshards and came across WP, it looked a nice place with nice people and here I am!

I played the OSI from day one for a few years; moved onto EverQuest, WOW, EVE and many other games since. My new job has me traveling a lot so my son and I play XBox and other games to hang out. We lost interest in WOW and burn through XBox games too quickly so we started looking for something different with some longevity. We've recently quit EVE, WOW and Diablo...

We been looking and testing UO servers for the past couple of months. Our last shard's frequency on server save and the time it took was brutal. In addition the lag was present more often than not.

Anyways, we're very fimiliar with UO and gaming in general. Thanks for having us,
