Spring Cleanup 2012

Spring is upon us and that means it's time for a WP cleanup. Do you have chests full of collected junk and trash you dont really need? Trash these items for tokens and help us clean up. Less items means less for the server to have to keep track of and faster save times. There are 463196 items on the server right now, and we would love to see that cut by a 3rd. If we can get to under 300000 items by the end of the month, we will create a special gift to commemorate the Srping cleanup of 2012!

It was hard but I was able to get rid of 130 items.
Who can get rid of more then that?

Quick question, do items in keys, in pet kennels and armouries count towards the total?

Items in keys, kennels and armories do not count towards the total. Placing items in them is a good way to reduce shard item count. :D

Heh, Spacer can probably do that in one room of his many houses, easy. I managed to get rid of at least a few hundred items by managing both stackables and non-stackables in two houses. We had maps, jewels and armor just lying around in the WPA guild house so they were moved to appropriate storage devices.

I suggest that either management or else the players get together to set a goal to get mass storage for non-stackables, for everyone... somehow. Armory, Granite Key, Kennel, T Hunters Chest/Scroll, etc. all can save a LOT of shard resources count. I know we want to have some (or maybe all of these items) as "something to work for" but perhaps we can have some sort of quest to get at least the ones that will have the biggest bang for the buck in saving shard resources. The quest could be just to get the resources to make the items if you like... or figure something else out. These are just some ideas and I'll also post them to the ideas forum.

Im very interested in a key to hold lumber, ore, and leather/cloth. My crafting skills arent high enough yet... So what would it cost to have something like that made?

thanks

Here is another thought....I am no coder or programmer so forgive my ignorance of limitations...would it be possible to create a book like the bod book that could hold all the deco scrolls that we get for the holidays etc? I must have 200 deco scrolls accumulated over the years...would be nice to be able to organize them in some manner.

Good news!

It's already in the game!

Almost any deco item in deed form can be stored in the Addon Deed Storage Key. It's crafted like the other storage keys. The good news is that the success chance is much greater than the other keys. You'll need a lot of arcane gems though.

Since you asked Zim (and I can only speak for what I think they MAY be worth to others) I should add that WPA now has a new vendor location... well that is if Dispiro has gotten a GM to setup a portal to her house. It may not have vendors just yet and if so, maybe they don't have much on them yet... but they will I think. I'd like to have this as a major stop for "all things crafted". Those keys you mention will be offered as well.

The costs... well I plan to sell mass storage devices (keys, tookboxes, etc.) for Organics, Tokens, Arcane Gems and perhaps other valuables such as spell-crafting formulas etc. if that works.

Tokens are used to make all of them and given each try takes 14,000 tokens, the cost should be around 45,000 to 60,000 tokens per item. I also want to allow organics and arcane gems to be used as "coin", though I'm not yet sure what is equivalent to that many tokens. First guess is maybe 5,000 to 10,000 organics, give or take a few. The purchase would require fewer Arcane gems of course but if those are only used to craft some of these things, the seller sure won't want to accept them as payment for very long (after a while the value is not there as you have more than you need or will need any time soon).

All of this takes into account that I am the one getting the platinum, petrified, redwood, platinum granite, etc. (depending on the item) that is required to make the storage device.

Well sorry but I just had to plug the upcoming vendor center and will do so whenever possible.
