UOAM troubles

First the good news - I got a new computer yesterday!

Then the bad news - I got UO all installed and patched, but UOAM is giving me fits. I moved the application folder over from the old computer, including all the custom maps. And I can't get most of them to work. The locations are there in the database, and I can jump to them, but the icons don't show on the map. If I put a new entry in the database, its icon shows - but none of the ones that were in there already.

I've tried deleting the folder and installing a fresh copy from the link in the forums, then downloading fresh copies of the Treasure, MIB, and housing maps, but that doesn't go either. The Treasure map works fine, but the other two don't (MIB shows no icons at all; houses shows Yordor's house, but no others).

And yes, I have all the map files checked in the options.

This is particularly frustrating to me because I have spent literally weeks mapping ore and wood locations into my own custom files, and now I can't see any of them. I'm afraid my vendors will be on hiatus until I get this resolved.

The old computer was WinXP, the new one is Win7, if that matters. Any clues?

LOL @ my house :D

Make sure the UOAM executable runs as administrator. Right-click the exe file (shortcut is ok too) and choose Properties > Compatibility tab. Without this, Windows blocks UOAM's ability to "snoop" on the network traffic headed to the UO program.

Tried that and it didn't work - BUT - I believe I have solved the issue. The map was defaulting to Felucca no matter what facet I was on. I should have checked that as it's done that to me before... I blame lack of sleep. :D

Now if I can figure out where the EasyUO script I was using stored its data I'll be back to normal, but that one is a lower priority.

Thanks Yordor - and, how on earth did you manage to get a house in Felucca?
