Hey all. Hopefully Ghost is readin' this because it kinda shocked me. I downloaded the UO client from this website on a new fresh installation of win7 as well as AVG and Malwarebytes. When I went to patch the client, AVG picked up a virus called Rozenza which was scheduled to run at the same time with the UOpatch.exe . Just thought that you might want to know.. maybe its just something AVG picked up on thats "suppose" to be there for the patching process OR its something that actually HAS attached itself to the file.

Did you get the virus alert while patching? If so, EA's servers may be spreading malware. If it was before any updates, the WP repository needs to be checked.

Tonight I downloaded the installer we have linked on the WP site and did a fresh install and patch of UO. I did extra virus checks with NOD32 at each step of the process. I encountered absolutely no virii or malware of any sort in either the files we have linked, or the patches from EA. This leads me to believe that what you are seeing are false positives from your AVG antivirus software.

Thank god for small favors right? A false positive is so much better than an true positive. Thank you Ghost for being so thorough. Its greatly appreciated. Just for everyone to know, AVG will say that this has a virus on it but it doesn't. I started doing a little research around the internet with people with Windows 7 and AVG Free Edition and every one of them had the same issue.

I got the same one. over and over again. i allways get the virus at patch 5.0.0

Iceing, are you using AVG? and are you using the installer we have linked on the WP site?

I haft to turn my avg off to run UO. Im installing UO from Ultima Online 7th anniversary edition cd. then im patching from EA.
