WP

I see these great, elaborate houses throughout the land that are owned by players we don't see anymore. I know some are taking a break, some may be on when I'm not, etc. Looking at all the accounts on MyRunUO you can see there are hundreds of potential citizens of WP. Where have they gone?

I can't imagine any good reason for leaving. Unless you've just got to have PvP, there really isn't a better server out there.

If any of the aforementioned parties are reading this post -- COME BACK!

Most of the people with elaborate houses and such come around from time to time. I know I have sporadic UO usage. Sometimes I'm off for a week, sometimes I'm on every waking moment.

The only thing I can think of on the myrunuo thing is malicious people connecting just for a moment to try and spam with [c and seeing it doesn't work or they run their little hack scripts and see that they don't work either and then leave.

The reason I think this is that I'm a system administrator of sorts and I see a lot of hack attempts in my server logs all the time.

Unfortunately, missing players seems to be in the nature of a shard. Players come. Some stay for a day, a week or a month, then get distracted by something else (or claim they are bored or that there is nothing to do on WP) and move on. There are several posts within these forums where I and Ch'Vayre have listed things to do on WP. Ch'Vayre is fond of telling players that the game is what you make of it. None of the players who claim they are bored have even done a fraction of these things. Some just do not take the time to explore all the possibilities that WP offers It is to their loss, however, as WP is full of interesting custom elements for those willing to take the time to look.

For those looking for new things, one of the best places to look is the archived MOTD postings here on the forums. As new things were added, they were typically announced in the MOTD, so there you will find clues to quests, systems and other elements you might not have met yet on WP.

Hey Ghost,
I know it's been awhile, Hope my account has not been deleted, But if so no big deal. I'll be logging back in soon, got kinda addicted to the facebook games when I was on Active Duty this past summer. (like 50 dif games.) New Years Eve, I got rid of all my Fake Facebook friends, and a few, most, of my actual friends and got rid of the games. So, trying to take a small break from games, except maybe Fallout 3, which I bought a few months ago with all the expansions and have only logged a few hours. Don't know yet. But look for me some time in the next few weeks.

If my account has been deleted, I'll get up with you to restart it, ie would still like to use the same names. I have no problems starting from scratch.

ps Currently our deployment is set for Fed 2011, But it's brought forward 6 times, so we expect to deploy earlier.
