Farewell

I'd like to thank all of you who I have had the pleasure of meeting and playing with here over the past few weeks. While most who know me know that I came from another shard I never really explained the reasons I left. I did so because the shard had been very true to the original UO experience but a newly appointed staffer brought in a lot of customs that were extremely over powered and even more hard to obtain. For the longest time I was frustrated with this "tainted" UO experience and in the end I left.
Coming here was based on two reasons. Firstly the family environment that is enforced. I think its great and really pushes the trouble makers away. As a staffer elsewhere I know how much one fool can influence a string of people. Secondly no pk. I have heard folks say that pk'ing brings another element into the game and is one that is sought by some folk. I don't disagree with that thinking at all but I've also seen folks leave a shard after being pk'd. I don't believe it helps build a shard full of the type of people that I would prefer to play with (ie, friendly/helpful ones).
My reason for leaving is the same one as my previous shard. I was hoping that coming to a new shard with a style of gameplay that I like would allow me to ignore the customs. Unfortunately I have been unable to do this. Where I go from here I do not know. I do know that I will end up updating the UO client which will end up in me not being able to log in here.
I came ingame one last time to give my worldly items away. I was hoping to catch up with a few folks that have assisted me in my time here but sadly they were not online. Vindicator, please share the wealth as you see fit.
I would like to thank the staff of whispering pines and congratulate them. You were open to suggestions and took on my [status idea, it was great to see my opinions being so openly welcome. Staff of whispering pines, you have created a great shard and I can see the work that you have put into it. I hope that this shard grows with mature, funloving players that create a fantastic gaming atmosphere.
To whispering pines, staff and players. I wish you all the best.
