Would anyone care to share how they came up with the names for their chars?
Some might of just though of the name on the spot but others seem to have interesting stories behind the name...
Im not much of a book reader but maybe 5 years ago I was reading some fiction book and the main character was an assassin (can't remember if he was dwarf or something) but at the time I though he was pretty cool hence my name
Been going from shard to shard but the name doesn't change and surprisingly I haven't seen another SlickBlade yet..

Haha! Well I think your name is pretty cool.
I always pick my first character as a Mule because they seem to make the most money on their own and don't have to travel to far to get everything done. I wanted a name that was very unique and no one would have thought of but yet still show players that I am a crafter.
I first thought of, "What's Spanish for crafter/maker/creator?" And it came out to be "creador." So... I just souped it up and made, Cree A'dor. Still pronounced the same, CREE-A-DOOR. that's the origin of my name.

My name is from an old dos game called The Dark Heart Of Uukrul. This character is a paladin and that explains it hehe. I took the name for myself and had called myself that since.

I am a bit of a Tolkien Geek so I name all my pets after Elves of the Simarillion (one of my favorite reads of all time), the sons of Elwe, Olwe, and Finwe and all my mounts have Elven names, like my Nightmare is Marroch, which is elven for Night Horse, Narroch which is Fire Horse. The name of my home Elenmbar is Quenyan for Elf Home. Now my name, Avanthar, isn't actually the name of any Elf. It is actually, "The Shadows", the forsaken land on the coast of Aman south of the Bay of Eldamar between the Pelori and the Sea, where Melkor met Ungoliant.

Thought I'd chime in on this, seems a bit interesting to me. Any way my name evolved over alot of time actually. I had started playing UO under several different names. One of these names was Dagvir. In another world they had a wedding you could buy, and my wife Blink wanted to get married on the shard. We needed a last name. Blink had no clue what name to use. I began searching names and at that time I was in a guild called Denizens of the Shadow and its abbreviation was D*S. I enjoyed the guild, so I thought it would be a bit comical if my characters initials where the same as the abbreviation. So, I searched names and found that Santi had something to do with Saints. I played a paladin so I thought it was fitting and the name stuck with me. Latter I had a friend tell me I was a demon in battle. So, when I moved I changed the name up a bit. Turning Dagvir to DeVir where the DeVi was meant to stand for Devil. Hence I became DeVir Santi the Daemon Saint. Ya, I know kind of cheesy, but it stuck.

My name took lots and lots of thought. It's my middle name. Also it is or was a title the son of a Barron. Really not an interesting way to pick a name, but been using it for years in many games.

To be honest I can't remember where I got my name but I've been using it for years. I started with it when I started to play D&D which was about 20 years ago. Wish I could tell you all more but my mind Isn't so good any more.
