I read the rules and such about the AFK macroing in the wilderness or training area or in your house.

What about resource gathering? Is that sort of macro'ing against the rules? I just wanted to make sure that I was clear before pursuing anything that could jeopardize my account.

Im no GM so I can't give you a perfect answer, but I would think that AFK resource gathering would be against the rules. It would greatly lower the value of money and resources. That's my opinion, but if a GM says it's ok then I won't stop you.

I do know that other servers allow this so I wanted to clarify before doing anything as I always like to do.

I do agree with you how it would decrease the value of particular items so by no means am I looking to deter any development of player economy. I just ask because my time is limited to play UO to about 15-30 minutes a night if I am lucky. So if I was able to gather supplies while I sleep it would benefit me to some extent but I will take whatever ruling there is with no conflict.

We do allow AFK resource gathering. However, you can do this at your own risk as not all locations are completely safe. Also, you may only do this in locations that are already specified in the rules.

The reason we allow this is because as you stated...many people have limited play time due to their real life schedules. We understand the tediousness of gathering resources and many prefer to be hunting/exploring rather than doing such.

Yes Dylian, as per the rules:

At this time, AFK (Away From Keyboard) macroing is allowed in the wilderness, training area, or at your house only. Do not AFK train your pets or leave them unattended anywhere on the shard. If found unattended, they will be deleted.

There is no macroing allowed anywhere in the city of Britain, period.
