Idea for a quest line

Hello,
I would love to see some sort of quest line implemented that takes a long time to complete.
Something worthwhile, where the end reward is certainly worth the effort.
A quest line that incorporates most aspects of the game - we have the luxury of being able to master all skills etc, so the quest could really put us through our paces.
I believe a quest that takes a long time, a decent grind and a lot of effort would be a great fun challenge to regular players and give a strong reason for long time players to come back and be invested.
I love the server and wish i could play a lot more, however, due to recent real-life issues, i have been kept away. When i log on, i do all my favourite things, but rapidly run out of things to do. Something like a quest to occupy my time would be a great diversion.
The rewards could be one single amazing item at the end, or perhaps a nice little item after completing several different milestones.
The quest, as mentioned before could focus on the lore of the server, however as mentioned above i would love to see it focus on quest types like "slay 30,000 of each creature", or make X amount of shirts, or find X craft item to make special item x, or use a bunch of special crafted items from creature drops to forge X. I would prefer this to scouring the map for a certain spawn with no clues. Personally i fond this approach to questing very frustrating withought any hints.
In regards to possible quest rewards, they could be game-breakingly awesome, or just simple, nice little mementos. Like the ability to target a small animal once, like a cat, rat, dog or bird to make it a familiar (un-attackable, but could follow you around as a companion). This could be the reward for completing the animal tamer aspect of the quest.
Would like to hear what others think, and even hear some ideas to make it truly awesome.
