The Chronicles of Tigger

Found WP and logged in today. Thought I'd chronicle my adventures here and maybe others can glean some tips along the way.

During character creation I chose Paladin. Figured I'd start with some armor, a weapon and the Chivalry book. Read the starter board and agreed - taking me to the profession gates area. Hmmm, choices, choices. I had a hard time deciding between Ranger/Tamer and Crafter, but ended up choosing Crafter to get a head start on those skills.

Ahhh Britain, how I have missed thee. Deposited at Brit bank, I open my bank box to see what goodies I have been bestowed......hmmm, not much......looks like a newbie ticket. So I've got that plus the items I started wiht in my backpack. lets see..... 1 candle, 1 book, 1 sword, 2 katanas, 1 dagger, 1000gp, a trash for tokens bag and a token ledger. Opening the ledger puts my name on it! Cool! Oh, and a letter for Lothar that probably starts some sort of newbie quest. Now, what to doooo.....

I find the world teleporter.....cool...lots of neat locations but one in particular catches my eye...training area....lets check that out.

Ahhh, nice area. Looks like WP uses Training Twiggys as their fighting trainers. I strip down to my skivvies to start training with my katana (don't want to wear my armor here as it will take unnecessary damage and the green twiggys cant hurt you) and attack a green twiggy. I double click the purple rectangle just to the right of my backpack on my paper doll to bring up the katana's special attacks. Hmmm, double stirike!! Nice. By using that when I attack the twiggy, I can train Swords, Tactics, Anatomy, Focus and Meditation. In less than an hour I take all 5 from level 70 to level 100!! WOW, that was FAST!!

Next I move over to the blue provo beetles and set up a razor macro to simultaneously train Arms Lore, ItemID, Spirit Speak, Detect Hidden and Evaluating Intelligence. I would add Taste ID but don't have any food yet, LOL. This is taking a while longer but is working well.

Looking forward to adventuring soon.

GM'd the Arms Lore, ItemID, Spirit Speak, Detect Hidden and Evaluating Intelligence in a couple of hours. Then took the omni to Luna and bought a wooden shield (Parry), Pitchfork (Fencing) and Hammer Pick (Macing) and headed back to the training area to GM those as well as Wrestling. Total cost, 75gp.

Fun, fun, fun

Today I returned to finish up the Wrestling training. When completed, I wandered over to the pickpocket dips where I started training stealing and hiding at the same time. While I was practicing, a very nice player named Tyx gifted me with a Frenzied Ostard for Christmas. What a nice gift!!

Decided to pick up Snooping from the mule next to the dips. Gains continue to come steadily, and I hope to be moving on soon. There is an NPC here at the training area, I wonder what he does?

Fresh from my training, I ventured to Uzeraan's mansion in Haven where I presented my letter to Lothar the Youth Trainer. He sent me on a series of quests, which, at the conclusion of each, I was awarded a piece of apprentice gear. When I finally finished this series of quests, I had quite a nice suit of armor and jewelry. Oh, I should mention that I also had 14K gold which I had gained from killing and claiming the monsters on this series of quests.

I deposited the gold in my bank box, then turned my auto-renew insurance on by single clicking myself and selecting auto renew insurance. Then I insured my non-blessed gear by single clicking myself and choosing Toggle Item Insurance. "Why do this?" you ask. Simple. If I die, any insured items will appear in my backpack when I resurrect. It will cost me 600gp per item, but I will not have to go back to my corpse to retrieve these items. Useful if your corpse is in a bad location and difficult to get to. I just have to remember to keep enough gold in my bank box to cover the auto-renew of the insurance ;)

Next, I ventured forth to the hue field, where I was able to change the color of my gear to something that suited me better. Very nice and useful, this hue field is.

Traveling to Brit Bank, I hooked up with Drayco, who agreed to combine his Young Player ticket with mine. When one does this, you get to pick from 6 rewards, and I chose a spellbook with spell levels 1-4 already in it. Now just have to fill the rest, lol.

Admin Storm announced that the judging for the Christmas Deco contest had commenced, and that there were gates to each house just west of Brit Bank. I journeyed to each one, and at Hoarmurath's house I was able to meet Santa!! He was nice enough to give me a Christmas present as well!!

New things are added each day during the shard's 12 days of Christmas celebrations, and I can't wait to see what is added next. :D

.... bought an instrument and some fruit and set up a Razor macro to train Peacemaking (which gets Musicmanship too) and TasteID while I am AFK :o Just don't do any afk macroing in town.

Also bought a pair of scissors and a bunch of cloth bolts. If you cut the bolts it will create cloth, and if you then cut the cloth it will make clean bandages.

With bandages in hand, back to the training area I went. Attack the red twiggy I did. He hits and causes damage, unlike the green twiggys, and with a macro I was able to train my healing up.

Now I felt I was ready for a little adventure, so off to the omni I went. Trammel dungeons, then Despise. Poked around there for a while, picking off lizardmen, Ettins and such. then I omnied over to Destard to try my hand there..............

You've got to be careful with Dragons. :D I managed to aggro several dragons, drakes and wyveryns all at once and they all bunched up at the entrance to Destard. I also experienced my first death during this process, lol. Off to the omni, then BB, then west to the ankh were I ressed myself. Using the corpse summoner, I was able to retrieve my body and get myself back together.

Back to Destard. Drat, they are still there at the entrance. I message in public so that some unsuspecting player didn't walk in on them, and a couple more senior players responded and cleared the entrance! TYVM!

Spent a while longer at Destard, killing single monsters and running from mobs. Died a couple more times, but this is easily fixed with the tools at BB. Good loot and hides here, along with scrolls to fill my partial spellbook. Just need to remember to keep gold in the bank to cover the insurance costs for my gear when I die.

Taking a break, I speak to Santa on the top of BB, who starts me on a quest looking for his lost reindeer. Sounds like fun, but I have to log for now. :(
