Yew prisoners and thier loot

I was able to defeat the Orcs holding the prisoner hostage near the Yew moongate, and picked the lock on the chest, but was unable to loot the goods inside the chest. Can you please let me know if that is a bug, or is it intended to be unlootable? I really enjoy treasure hunting and find looting from a chest is a lot of fun.
