Let's Make a Deal/Hide & Seek Event 8/23
Posted: Fri Aug 14, 2015 9:24 pmI'm coming up on one full year of residence in the Whispering Pines in nine days and I'd like to celebrate the occassion by showing some love to all the good players here. Everyone is invited, from the oldest veteran to the youngest new player. I'm looking forward to hanging out with old friends and making new ones! 
Please come out and spend a few hours with me and the rest of your fellow shardies!
The event is tentatively scheduled to take place at 6 PM Eastern U.S. Time on Sunday 8/23. The event will take place in the Nujel'm Theater, located a little ways north of the bank. I'd greatly appreciate anyone who can let me know ahead of time if they'll be able to attend or not. The first round will be modeled after one of my favorite game shows: Let's Make a Deal. It'll consist of two parts, each with several rounds.
!) I'll ask for a random item from the crowd and the first player to drop it on me in a trade window wins a prize! So load up your backpacks with as many items as you can carry - you never know what I'll ask for! This round can be won multiple times by the same player. [***Rules: No pack animals, alts, or spare containers allowed. If it doesn't fit in your main pack or on your person, don't bring it. Items are retained by the owner; I'm not asking you to give me the items, just show them to me.]
2) Everyone in the crowd rolls dice; high roller plays this round next. Each player gets one turn in this round and everyone in attendance will get a turn [***Again, no alt characters allowed.]. You'll have to choose one of three boxes which contain either a good gift, a great gift, or a booby prize. Picking the booby prize ends the game but if you get one of the others, you have the opportunity to trade it in for another box. Try to get the best prize but don't get too greedy!
If there are enough players in attendance to warrant it and the event moves along in a timely fashion then we can also play Hide & Seek! I've always been a huge fan of marking runes in unusual/little known/hard-to-get-to locations. It's a long dead hobby for most players but I'd like to revive it a little and get everyone looking for and visiting places they might have never thought about otherwise. I'll give a clue or two in-game and post a screenshot of my location in this thread. The first person to get to me (not find me but get to my location) wins! In the unlikely event that no one can get to my exact location, the first player to find me will be the winner. # of rounds to be determined.

You all made it a lot of fun; so much that I'm already thinking about when I'll be able to host another! I believe everyone walked away with at least one very good prize but I have to give special congratulations to Fred - I wasn't counting but he surely won several million in gold, prizes, and fish this evening!
