I have been thinking of purchasing one as I couldn't really hold onto my thunderwyrm bow (not nimble enough to equip). Can anybody enlighten me on how this thing works? Or did i lose the chance to raise my Dexterity all in all?

Your cap for any individual stat is 125 and you can raise your dex by doing any activity that requires dex. The most popular and easiest would be beating up on a training twiggy with a fencing weapon. First time training isn't bad; I think the elixirs are more for emergencies, like say you used an insta-res command and lost stats but it's also the middle of the day and you want to play, not macro-smack a twiggy for hours.

The elixirs are really about convenience. Sometimes it's really hard to gain stats when all your skills are fully trained. The elixir gives a quick way to get the boost you want in exchange for a little coin.
