In regard to the Christmas contest prizes....

Does a +3 tinkering tunic really help that much to put it up there with other prizes such as the twiggy?
I'm curious what kind of increase in % that would give you for crafting keys and such.

Just a random thought.

I'm new, but I think I know the answer to that one.
When crafting a key you have a 40% success chance at skill 120. A tunic with +3 to tinkering would raise that chance to 46%.

Please correct me someone if I'm wrong.

Well, as of right now there is absolutely no way to get +Tinkering Gear on Whispering Pines...making this an extremely rare item. In fact, the only one on the shard. Also, we have had some crafters demand +Tinkering gear in order to increase their chances on making those coveted keys. It's the winner's choice upon their prize...some may go for this others may go for a twiggy while still others will want the deco items which will be on display shortly...The point of adding such a variety of prizes for this contest is to get more than just a handful interested. Everyone has a preference...I am just trying to give prizes in which everyone (regardless of their choice of play) will enjoy.

Hmm I am also as curious as Epi. What % will the +3 gives?

I hope I didn't sound unappreciative. My lack of knowledge on the item makes me think it might not be as valuable as the others. I was just trying to get some reassurance as I plan on trying hard to win this contest. If I happen to be so lucky as to be one of the winners I'd like to be able to make an informed decision.

I always try to weigh out every decision I make in UO and it can get a little annoying at times.
I still have a twiggy because I'm scared to pick something and later find out it might not be the best choice. lol
