Autolooter Discussion

I'm just curious what other players use and how things work out for them. For my part, I only use them in certain areas where I want to loot resources and don't feel like manually dragging/dropping hard-to-grab objects (feathers for instance) 10,000 times. I alternate between Trailmyx's Advanced Claw Full and xparrs smart looter. There are things I like and dislike about each. I find xparr to be MUCH faster but I can't figure out how to add any new items to the lootable list. So when I want to loot something that isn't in the list (organics, for example) it's useless to me. I also have no idea how to, or if it's even possible to, get it to loot armor + weapons by properties, instead of looting every halberd it comes across.

It's easy for me to add new items to the loot list in Trailmyx so I use it for specialty stuff like orgs and driftwood, but it is SO slow that it's only useful with very short looting lists. I can manually evaluate item properties as fast as this looter can. Also as far as I can tell there's no way to get it to cut up hides into leather. :(

I've heard that UOSteam and AssistUO both have great and stable autolooters but neither will run on my notebook. I'm interested in hearing about what else is out there though, or if anyone knows more about xparr and Trailmyx than I do.

having recently tinkered with both, I can shed a little light. There is no way to add properties in Xparr, unless you know scripting (and I don't). But I prefer Xparr for cutting leather/bones, etc. I suppose you can run xparr and trail at the same time, as long as you don't have any conflicts (eg let Xparr gather leather and let Trail look for items with specific defined properties, and as you point out it can be slow if too many things added ...I have not done this though so not sure if that would work properly).

I have tried a number of autolooters and have not found any one program that satisfies all of my needs, so I bounce between the 2. Steam and AssistUO are good but require some knowledge to set up properly.

I've tried running them both at the same time with different loot lists; it doesn't work. You'll get some items, you'll miss some items, you'll get 'you must wait to perform another action' a bunch.

I exclusively use parrssmartlooter script with the bag of holding as the loot bag. For things like organics, peerless keys etc. It works great, but while its looting, it's not a good idea to start moving. That can crash your client like all other looters.

I looked into xparr more and found out some stuff - figured I'd share it for the benefit of anyone reading this.

Xparr definitely doesn't allow you to loot armor/weapons/jewelry/etc by item properties because it was never included. It was talked about on the EasyUO forum for a long while but just never happened. I don't understand why anyone would want to loot (for example) every piece of female plate armor they come across, regardless of its item properties, but that's all you can do with it. It IS super-fast and very good when it comes to looting resources and items like treasure maps off of corpses though.

Xparr does allow you to add completely new items into its loot list as well. Under the Options menu, hit the Create New button on the lower left side, rename it to whatever you want in the white text box below that, hit that Add Target button above, and then target the item you want to add to your loot list. Hit the Save-Return button and you're finished. I just added Organic Material a few minutes ago and tried it - works like a charm.
