Necromage Potion

I used the necromage potion on my human bio and he didnt get the necromancy skill nor does he cast any spells at all. Does it work?

I don't know if this has already been answered in-game but the necromancer potion has worked well for others who have used it. It will give your pet 30 necromancy skill if it has 0 to start with. That skill doesn't show in the skills command but it's there and working. Pets have a skill cap so you'll still need to make sure another skill is set for "down" or that you've got the points to devote to necromancy training.

They will still do a melee attack, but be sure their weapon is spell channeling!

Thanks Falkor. I think my problem is that my pet has 7800 points, well over cap. Not sure how he got there but i have a few skills that are slowly going down. Once I get under cap again, I imagine it will start to raise. Thanks!!

Heres what I had to do. Because I was so far over the skill cap on my bio, I had to have him train a skill I could see to get him back under cap. I had him learn swords and mace while having multiple skills pointing down. their values dropped while swords/mace never went up. This got me back under cap so I could learn necro.
