Housing Queries et al

Greetings
I never got around to writing the "introductory" post for my character...so I shall lead off with here with a short introduction..
I play an Elven character by the name of Avanthar. I tend to try to roleplay as often as possible and speak in character when face to face with other players. It has been about 6 years since I played UO last. All my experience exists within the "Second Age" verison. I have recently been granted some free time so I figured I would dust off my love of the simplistic UO and rejoin a free shard. I can certainly say that I have enjoyed my two weeks here so far and I have nothing negative to say, which is always good. Everyone has been extremely helpful and my sometimes ridiculously simple questions get answered quickly and efficiently and for that I am appreciative.
My character has progressed to the point that I know need additional storage for my various crafting endeavors. My bank box is just not big enough anymore. So my focus is to now secure more storage. I would think there are two obvious ways. 1. to build a house. I know that I would need to purchase a housing locator deed thingy from an architect but after that I am a bit clueless...In my past experiences I have always purchased a static house in Yew for a specific price point. Is it still a viable option to purchase a static house within a city? or must I build one from scratch. It would seem most houses are in Luna..is that a requirement? or can I place it in/near Yew. I chose Yew based on being Elven and that has always traditionally been the elven conclave although it does not seem WP adheres to that. 2. Buy a chest(s) in someone elses dwelling. Would it be possible for someone to sell me a quantity of lockable chests within their house or shop? At this point I am more interested in spending my gold on my crafting needs than building a "palace".
Please let me know my options and how I need to proceed towards housing/storage.
Thanks
Avanthar
