Disarm Trap at 120...Why bother

Ghost/team -

I've been 120 in disarm trap for a long time and have helped several work up lock picking and other related skills but when I'm asked 'why not just to telekinesis'; I find myself a little lost. After working very hard to get to 120 disarm trap you still can't disarm crusty's or level 6 t-chests, so indeed what is the point? it would seem that the highest level of the skill would result in some reasonable level of ability to disarm these high level chests.

Just wondering,
Kaw....

With skills, in order to gain you must have a chance to fail. With some skills, like forensics, there are not challenges which present enough difficulty to gain, and with these skills, elixirs are the only way to get to 120. Also, there may be no realized benefit with these skills actually being at 120.

Crustys are an especially difficult and rare item, with varying difficulties of trap and lock. They are coded in such a way that you may never get to 100% success with them. This is on purpose. As far as the level 6 t-map chests, I'd have to go look at the coding to see how their trapping is coded.

Ghost, gaining isn't the issue. I am 120 LP and 120 disarm trap. The point I'm making is that not that I fail occasionally or frequently disarming a level six trunk or a crusty, but rather that I fail all the time. Hear this.. I have tried numerous times and have NEVER been successful at disarming either chest.. never! And at 120 skill.

Hence the subject line... why bother with the skill if it is useless at the highest level.

Regards,
Kaw...
