Announcing the WP Summer 2013 Fishing Tournament!! Try and catch the biggest Big Fish between now and the end of June 15th. Entries (the fish itself) will be accepted the evening of the 15th and the winner announced shortly thereafter.

First Place = Twiglet or 8000 Organics
Second Place = Golden Twiggy or 6000 Organics
Third Place = Random Reward Token or 4000 Organics
Fourth Place = A Fishing Pole of the Stars (+15 Fishing) or 2000 Organics

When you catch a Big Fish, it will record the date of the catch, so we will know if it was caught between May 30th and June 15th 2013. All big fish from outside those dates are not eligible for the tournament.

Now go catch some fish!!

I am beating the boys so far! caught a 143 stone fish this morning using normal worms....Lets see who can beat me here!!!!!!!!

Ghost will you be displaying the current leaders somewhere publicly on the shard so we can all keep an eye on the leader board?

Also.. fishing pole of the stars? Can that be obtained somewhere in game other than a prize?

There will be no leaderboard, because staff will not know what has been caught till the entries are collected on the 15th.

The Fishing Pole of the Stars has been given out from time to time as an event reward. Currently, there is no other way to get one (unless some player has one for sale).

Okay..no leader board so maybe we can just post our highs and come up with a pseudo leader board. cutting up the big fish that have no weight or name on them I have laid out on my floor the following catches:
192, 179, 60, and a wimpy wimpy 53.

All this fishin made me think of a few variations on the theme. How's about...
* The smallest big fish (with weight/date/name)
* The most accumulated (by weight Big fish)
* The most accumulated (by count Big fish).

.. Keep on casting!!!

An entry chest will be set up just west of Britain Bank, near the dolphins. Drop your tournament big fish on the chest. One entry per player only. We will close the entries at 9PM shard time on June 15th. We will announce the winners on the 16th.

1st Place - Styx with a 199 stone fish caught on 6/1/13
2nd Place - Kaw with a 198 stone fish caught on 6/5/13
3rd Place - Ash with a 198 stone fish caught on 6/14/13
4th Place - Pepper with a 197 stone fish caught on 6/6/13

Lala also caught a 197, but did so on 6/9/13 so Pepper beat her out for 4th place.
