I work at a library, and for a while conducted its Comic Book/Anime club. When I was starting that up, I checked out lots of different stuff, to see what it was that the kids were into. One title I came across is a manga/anime called Bleach. For being geared to the teen crowd, I thought the story had a lot of cool aspects, and I got caught up in it quickly! My wife even got into the anime, which is in something like its eighth season (in Japan).
My characters name is pulled from one of my favorite characters from that story! Google it if you want further evidence of my proudly high level of dork-ness. But whatever you do, if you've never read the story, DON'T. If you do, you'll probably get sucked in too. It's insidious.
