As a matter of courtesy, when you page for staff to come help you with something, please turn off your macros while we are with you. It is very distracting to try and read what you have typed when it is being spammed with pet commands (i.e. All follow me, All guard me, etc, etc). Or to have you constantly hiding and unhiding (which spams your name above you head that others can see), or casting spells (spell name spam), or attacking staff.

Staff will consider this rude behavior, and can opt not to assist you till the situation is corrected. If you are using the built in UO macros, be sure and set them up with a modifier key (Shift, Alt, or Ctrl) so that you don't trigger the macros while speaking with staff.

Turning the macros off will make it easier and quicker for staff to help solve your problems.

And on another note, there have been several instances lately (over the last several weeks) of players completely misinterpreting the words and/or actions of other players, and in the end getting their feelings hurt over it. We are limited in this game to tiny sentence fragments to communicate. It can often be difficult to infer the intentions of other players. Text can easily be missed (good idea to keep your journal open for this very reason) and so you assume the other player has seen something typed that they have not. Try to keep an open mind and not get your underwear in a twist when you think you have been wronged. You may not have the full details of the situation, or you may be misinterpreting the situation and blowing things completely out of proportion. We are a small shard, and like to avoid this type of unnecessary drama (all drama actually).

Forgive and forget is also a good policy to follow, otherwise, this angst is carried forward and pollutes the shard with further drama and negativity.

Or you could consider the fact that adding those additional CTRL+ALT will inhibit the current macros and override other macros which requires a LOT of irritation to fix? I wasn't spamming you, I had an attack macro in which could have been resolved with [invul. I use these macros daily and did my best not to trigger them when asked. Does me being polite via words as a player not count anymore? Or is that rude too?

You were spamming me, Bartuc. Every time you hide and unhide, it spams your name and title above your head. When you attack me, it spams "Bartuc is attacking you". First I asked that you stop the macros. Then I asked that you come and read this post. Bottom line is, when you are running the macros, there is a ton of spam that you do not see, but staff (or other players) do see. To conduct business in an efficient manner, we have asked that macros be discontinued while we are helping. I have spoken to several staffers and players, and no one felt that this request is unreasonable.

Counting the letters, F-Keys, and symbols, you have 59 possible macros using the Shift modifier key, another 59 using the Ctrl key, and another 59 using the Alt key. That's 177 possible macro keys. If you use 2 modifier keys (Ctrl+Alt) for example, you can have many many more.

Because you told me to do something very naughty to myself in public chat, your account has been banned.

With the current number of new players, average shard online count has skyrocketed. Staff asks that if you need us, to please page rather than ask for us in public chat [use the help button on your paperdoll to page]. With so much going on, we might very well miss your public request, or be afk at the time you said something in public. When you page, staff gets a window that pops up, letting us know that there is a page waiting. If we are offline and log in, we see that same window. Remember that pages get cleared with each mornings restart at 3:30AM shard time.

There have also been quite a few pages regarding general information that would have been better asked in public chat. Try your question first in public, as the majority of questions can be answered there.
