Interest in Twitter Updates?

I was thinking of posting this in the suggestions forum, but I want to see how much interest there is in this first.

How many of you would like to see a WP twitter page and have the posibility of receiving WP updates via twitter?
I know I would.

I think it would also help spread the word about WP so we can share our home with others.


P.S. I've noticed a lot of people are under the assumption that twitter has something to do with cell phones when in fact, receiving twitter updates via cell is just one of many options and features. I don't even own a cell and I use twitter a LOT. I get updates via my IM client.

I've looked into Twitter and it seems like a pretty solid idea. I've found it doesn't require a cell phone (you can choose not to enter any phone information) just an email address when you register. Now it also has a feature where you can specify to only allow people to follow you that you actually want following you.

It could be a way to supplement the WP website for getting the news out for upcoming events, also, since you can get updates via some instant messaging clients like you mentioned.

Could be good. (I do use my cell for Twitter, as well as MSN.) The only thing that occurs to me is it might be a bit underpowered (i.e. 120 character limit), but considering it's pretty much no effort to do, both for staff and for users...could be good.

Yeah, it's short messages, but I was thinking a general subject of the news with a link to the motd forum would be cool.
